DPI-SSL

Deep Packet Inspection - Secure Socket Layer (DPI-SSL)
SonicWall DPI-SSL enables the decryption of encrypted traffic to look for hidden threats.

DPI-SSL extends SonicWall's patented Reassembly-Free Deep Packet Inspection® (RFDPI) technology to allow inspection of encrypted HTTPS traffic and other SSL-based traffic. It provides additional security, application control, and data leakage prevention for analysing encrypted traffic.

The SSL traffic is decrypted transparently, scanned for threats, and then re-encrypted and sent along to its destination if no threats or vulnerabilities are found.

Secure protocols (regardless of actual port number) include:
HTTPS, SMTPS, NNTPS, LDAPS, FTPS, TelnetS, IMAPS, IRCS, POPS
